This pages shows RIPE Atlas results of measurements towards DNS root server instances.
Each dot represents a collection of results that targeted a particular instance. The size of the dot represents the amount of results at that instance in a given time period (bucket). The color of the dot represents the median RTT of the results.
If a probe switches from one instance to another in two consecutive measurements, then a line is drawn from the previous to the current instance. Such instance switches are not unexpected, but if they happen on a large scale then they highlight a potential routing or service event.
